Located on 8th Avenue between 48th and 49th Street, Social Bar is a neighborhood Irish Pub that sparkles with a fun energy—a great hangout for locals and a destination for some serious bar grub.

With a nice selection of local and micro brews and delicious specialty cocktails like the Coconut Mojito (Bacardi Coconut, fresh mint, Top soda) and the Tom’s Classic Strawberry Collins (Bombay Sapphire gin, fresh lemon and strawberry puree) there is surely something for everyone.

We happily indulged in the incredible Cedar Planked Nachos (tri-colored chips layered with grilled peppers, black beans, red onions, scallions, cilantro, cheddar & jack cheese and a tomato cheese sauce) and the scrumptious Chicken Naan (Thai-style chicken on charred naan bread with a sweet chili lime sauce, avocado, red onion and cilantro).

Next up we ventured onto the classics to see if the quality would hold up and it certainly did. The Mac and Cheese (macaroni tossed in a creamy four-cheese sauce including Irish cheddar, Fontina, gruyere and parmesan with a bread crumb topping) was comfort food done just right. The Pat La Frieda special blend sliders were a delicious compliment to the savory selection of wings (available in six different heats/flavors).

Social is a great neighborhood joint and rocks the house with a DJ every Thursday through Saturday—stop on by!
