The New Jersey Gold Coast, A Foodie Find

| May 27, 2015

nyc night skylineThe New Jersey Gold Coast is comprised of all of the towns along the Hudson River with glorious views of Manhattan. This includes: Edgewater, North Bergen, West New York, Weehawken, Hoboken and Jersey City. Surprisingly, it is only about 20 minutes by car, bus or ferry from Manhattan to the New Jersey Gold Coast, making it feel like the best kept secret in Metro NYC. With the construction of new high rise buildings abound, many New Yorkers are crossing the Hudson to seek more space and striking views at lower prices.

A beautiful boardwalk extends along the New Jersey Gold Coast from Edgewater to Hoboken encouraging a stroll or a run on a beautiful day, while passing many fabulous restaurants along the way.

There is something for everyone from Steak to Seafood and everything in between. A fine assortment that is sure to tempt your palate and satisfy your inner foodie. This may be the suburbs, but many are venturing across the river to taste the creations that are highly recommended by peers and critics alike.

A great first bet is Haven Riverfront Restaurant and Bar. Located right on the Hudson River in Edgewater, New Jersey, Haven features outdoor patio seating and beautiful views from many of the tables inside. The chef prepares contemporary American cuisine that is both creative and delicious.

If you are looking for a sports bar, Pier 115 is an excellent choice. With a large outdoor area, Pier 115 hosts fantastic happy hours and it is surely the place to be on game days.

For a more formal dining experience, we recommend Fleming's Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar. The service at Fleming's is unsurpassed and the food is consistently top notch. The steaks are as good as or better than any Manhattan steakhouse.

In the mood for surf and turf? You can't go wrong at The Chart House where the views of Manhattan capture everything from the Empire State Building to the Freedom Tower.

For those looking for a fabulous night out, try Son Cubano Restaurant and Bar. The eclectic menu offers scrumptious choices for all, while the DJ spins the latest dance tunes.

But the Gold Coast cuisine has so much more to offer than just fantastic views, some of the best food around can be found in the area. Some of our favorite discoveries include: Rebeccas Cuban and Caribbean Restaurant, Paloma Negra, Sabor Latin Bistro and Porto by Antonio Brick Oven Pizza

Take the journey across the Hudson, you won't be disappointed.

Bon appetite!
