Cusumano Nero D’Avola

cusumano nero davolaIn the United States one of the lesser known grapes is Nero D’Avola from Sicily. It is fast becoming a staple on wine lists everywhere, particularly in Italian Restaurants. Known for it intense color and fruity spirit, Nero D’Avola is a wonderful choice for those who would normally order a warmer climate Syrah.

One of my favorites is Cusumano Nero D’Avola, an unbeatable selection at around $10. This medium-full bodied red, presents luscious cherry and blackberry scents, and delivers fresh strawberry and plum flavors with a touch of pepper and a lasting, yet delicate finish.
Pair with a delicious Fettucine Puttanesca, Spaghetti Marinara or even a Barbequed Beef and enjoy!
