Whitman and Bloom….Murray Hill’s Foodie Haven

| February 11, 2014

WHITMAN AND BLOOMIn a neighborhood known for pubs and sports bars, Whitman and Bloom located at 384 Third Avenue is a welcome addition to Murray Hill.  The warm, inviting space combines intimate booths and a long, lively bar that feels truly welcoming.

The very friendly, well informed staff is on hand to assist diners with their selections and the delicious assortment of small plates is what makes Whitman and Bloom particularly memorable. From flatbreads with mushrooms and goat cheese, to Brussels sprouts, to their delish mac and cheese, Whitman & Bloom is a true culinary delight.

Some of our favorites include the roasted artichoke salad (so good, we didn't want to share), lamb sliders on three mini brioche buns with pickled onions and a yummy jalapeno salsa, crispy (but tender) striped sea bass with roasted fennel, and as pickle lovers, we were particularly taken with the side of homemade pickled broccoli and turnips that came with the fish.

CAULIFLOWERThere are so many wonderful choices at Whitman and Bloom that repeat visits will be frequent, however the roasted cauliflower is a MUST and garners our pick for “THE DISH.”

Looking for a great beer? With 12 beers on tap, Whitman and Bloom has something for all palates. In addition there are a number of specialty cocktails including the Whitman Spritzer, with a refreshing twist on the original.

Whitman and Bloom is definitely Murray Hill's neighborhood "go to" place for a date night, hanging with friends and sharing some awesome food, or just stopping in for a drink after work.

See you at the bar!
